History of our club

Wyandotte Martial Arts started off in 1975 in an upstairs area of a building located off of Oak Street between 5th and 6th Street. Master Gary Hasson was the original instructor at this site. Master Hasson formerly taught Tang Soo Do at the McLouth Steel Workers Hall on Fort Street prior to opening this location. He drew a lot of his student base from Wyandotte and McLouth. He was a student of GM Dale Drouillard.

The club has been passed down over the years to many other instructors: Master Roy Longton, Master Smith, Master Vicki Brown (Hall), Master Dan Mazglad, and then Master Ken Moore. Master Moore has been running the school since 2004 and currently holds the rank of 5th Dan.

In 2021, the building where Wyandotte Martial Arts was located was sold, but good karma prevailed and the club moved down the street to the Downriver Council for the Arts at 81 Chestnut in Wyandotte. It turned out better than expected.
